The melon
So delicious, that you wouldn’t think that it fattens! Does it?
Eating melons won’t give you any extra pounds. Actually, it’s a real source of vitamins for your body. If you eat 3-4 slices is like you drink 2 glasses of water. You get a Potassium bonus - 100 mg /3 slices – a third of your daily need.
Melon has 33 calories / 100g, all in a very easy to assimilate form sugar. This is perfect for a day of sunbath.
Melon also provides 2 other vitamins, much needed by your skin. There’s vitamin A and vitamin C. Actually, 2 slices of melon contain more vitamin C that a whole orange! Vitamin A, in the carotene form, is excellent for the skin, protecting it from the sun rays, and ensures an even tan, while the C vitamin participates actively at collagen producing, which maintains the skin elasticity.
Keep the melon at the room’s temperature for maximum 2-3 days before consuming it. In the fridge, if the temperature is lower than 5 degrees, the melon loses its flavor.
